Assonance is a repeat of vowel sounds, but because we're a lazy lot when it comes to language, vowels seem to have received some kind of informal dispensation and may now be used in a fashion described as alliterative. Then again, maybe I misread something. I'm sure if I did, JaneAnne will do the honors of correcting the error of my ways.J.M. That is, it's the repeating of an initial or stressed consonant sound in a series of words.

If it's a vowel sound that's repeated or stressed, then it's assonance.

I think your two posts had examples (and excellent ones) of both.Gilahihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05331323175802868796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-287043388945723817.post-68988083065245552852009-11-25T14:10:40.075+01:002009-11-25T14:10:40.075+01:00My, but that was a marvelous and magnificent manif...My, but that was a marvelous and magnificent manifestation of mad musings!Mayahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06163354395585207840noreply@blogger.com
