A Meme in Five Parts: Act I

Ah, the ever ubiquitous meme.

Why do these seem to never grow old?

I must confess: every time I do one, I feel like I’m 12 and giggly and starry-eyed and dreamy—that age before I truly came to know how crappy adulthood can be at times.

Now, I’m old and cynical and bitter and I haven’t a dream left in me. (Okay, that might be a bit harsh, but the cynical, bitter part isn’t.) So, here’s the latest meme, by way of Sister Mary Lisa.

It’s 50 questions long, so I’m breaking it up into five parts, because memes should be short. More especially, though, because I have a piece I’ve written about fall and I just saw the movie September Dawn tonight and I want to review that in the next day or so.

1. What time did you get up this morning?
5:45 a.m. I woke up in the middle of an epiphany about trying to be rational and professional with someone who is insane. I think I'm on the losing end, but I'm willing to keep trying...

2. How do you like your steak?
Medium well.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
September Dawn with Bee and a friend.

4. What is your favorite TV show?
Friends, Dharma and Greg, The Vicar of Dibley. I call these my "adult cartoons." If you want something current, I can’t give you anything as I don’t watch TV much these days.

5. What did you have for breakfast?
The same thing I have most mornings: six times nothing.

6. What is your middle name?
M. (Actually, the M really does mean something more than just being a letter, but it's for me to know and the rest of you not to find out via my blog.)

7. What is your favorite cuisine?
I confess, I’m not 100% keen on the whole vegan/vegetarian line of cuisine. My favorite would be just about anything. I’m not that picky.

8. What are your favorite chips?
Utz regular potato chips. For a basic potato chip, they put Lays to shame.

9. What is your favorite CD at the moment?
Snow Patrol’s Eye’s Open.

10. What kind of car do you drive?
To work, a Honda CR-V EX. When going out with friends or driving long distances, a Volkswagen Passat.

I agree - memes should be short. I hadn't thought of breaking them up like you did. Maybe I shouldn't admit certain things in print, eh? :)

Food from Rice should be one of the five food groups, by the way.

I love memes, the longer the better. I'm a meme FREAK.

I can't remember what the M stands for. :-)

I adore the Vicar of Dibley. Dawn French is a goddess! (And I look forward to the day when PBS gets the special episode that was shot last year as part of a charity event!!)

Sideon: Amen! And, I guarantee you, once you've eaten at Ti Couz, you'll make that one of the five food groups, too! I promise.

Di: I love memes, too, but this one was way too long for the Blogger format. As for the M, think of a famous German actress.

Merujo: Hear! Hear! Dawn French ab-so-fucking-lutely ROCKS! Love her! Rumor has it, you can dig up episodes of the Vicar via YouTube... Not the greatest, I know, but still...

And by the way, Merujo, when are you, me and the 'Quatch getting together?

I love MeMe's, they are addictive. But they also give the reader additional insights.
