Winter Cardinal at Mount VernonYesterday, I took Sister NoMo's mother, who is visiting from the Cornhusker State, to see Mount Vernon. I've already written a bunch of stuff about the home of our first president here, here, here, here, and here, so I won't write anymore HERE. But, I took this picture of a cardinal that I thought turned out well. I am posting that HERE!

And, P.S., is it just me or is it time to be done with all of these holidays and festivizing and caloric consumption? I feel like eating a big salad and cozying up with some crudite. Bring on the carrot sticks, boys and girls! It's time for some roughage!

Lisa: Thank you! The great thing was, his mate--who isn't as colorful. Sort of brown with red highlights--was two trees down. I probably could have captured both of them in the same picture, but I was lucky to get this one before they both flew off.
