Birdie! Birdie!
Flying Footballs. Sidewalk Scroungers. Rats with Wings. Flying Rats. Whatever you call them, pigeons are ubiquitous. I will say this for D.C.'s pigeons, though: they're generally a pretty pristine looking group. Worst looking pigeons in the country? San Francisco pigeons. Those poor buggers look like they've been drug around the block a few times and then some out there.

I've always had a fondness for pigeons. One man's pigeon is another man's dove, yes?
We tend to have more mourning doves than pigeons.
Until I clicked on it, I didn't realize how many birds were landing in that first one... Great shots! :)
Lacochran: Hm. I don't know about that. Maybe. Doves are lovely. Pigeons, only so-so.
Cele: I love mourning doves. They make the most interesting sound when they take off.
Brian: It's an odd picture with a lot of busyness going on with the cars behind the pigeons. Not the best picture in miniature, but enlarged it's kinda cool, isn't it?
Wow, those pigeons do look in good shape! Seattle pigeons look a little worse for wear.
Maya: I think they have their own lobbyist on Capitol Hill. Somehow, they've managed to get an earmark or two in a bill that provides with a government-subsidized grooming and upkeep allowance. That's the only explanation I can come up with for their good looks.
