Old Ropes Never Die. They Just Fray Away...

Scene: The parking lot of REI in Rockville

Players: Jay, Bee, and Pete

In this scene, Pete--an environmental policy wonk by weekdays and a rock climber by weekends--has just acquired a brand new, really cool, green climbing rope.

Pete: I'm very excited about my new rope.

Bee: So, what do you do with the old rope?

Jay: You send it to the old rope's home.

Aitch: I rarely have a good retort, but this one happened so naturally that I must say I'm quite proud of it!

SML: I love it when you love things!

Cele: Could be. I don't know. Actually, I was going with a quote from Gen. Douglas MacArthur after he was fired by President Truman and he spoke to a joint session of Congress. He said, "Old soldiers never die. They just fade away..."

Ms U: There were certainly several jokes along those lines, too...
