Snow Patrol

I'll admit upfront: I'm not hip to the latest and greatest in the music scene. Part of that is just that I don't listen to a lot of radio and part of that is that my tastes are pretty eclectic. I listen to everything from Rachmaninoff to Pink Martini, Frank Sinatra to Celine Dion, The Dixie Chicks to Johnny Mathis, Melissa Etheridge to P.I. Tchaikovsky. And, I adore Christmas music.

A couple of months ago, a friend sent me a compilation of songs she put together that included the song "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol on their album Eyes Open. I enjoy this song. A lot. So much so, I went to iTunes the other night and bought the entire album. If you like Matchbox Twenty or Rob Thomas, you'll like Snow Patrol. Strong lyrics, good acoustics, easy on the ears, fun to sing along with.

Having said all that, you're probably going to tell me I'm way behind the curve and Snow Patrol is so last year. Oh well. I'm enjoying it for now. You might, too.

Oh I like Snow Patrol, I only know three or so of their songs, but each I really found addictive. I have gotten to the point in my music buying, that I wait for greatest or best of packages. Matchbox Twenty just came out with Exile On Mainstream. The Goo Goo Dolls are releasing The Singles. Now if Five For Fighting and Coldplay would put out compilations I'd be in musical heaven.

GF: Hi! Oh crap! Was last night Happy Hour? Shoot. I hope I didn't miss that again.... So, what did you think of Snow Patrol?

Di: Yeah us! I LOVE that song. And the rest of the album is really good, too!

Cele: Addictive is an excellent word for it. I'll have to check out the compilations you mentioned.
