A or B?

Lucky Strike Building in the old warehouse district, Richmond, Virginia.
I like all the different lines in this photo. What do you think?

Two photos. Different settings: one only slightly enhanced (above) the other one with a lower white balance (below.) Which do you prefer?

Same as above, but edited... extremely...

It's raining here today. I'm off at 12:00 for a personal tour of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral down on 17th and Shepherd. I'm hoping the weather clears and the sun peeks out as I've been told the interior is quite beautiful during the day with natural light streaming through the windows. I know nothing about Russian architecture and iconography, so this will be a good learning experience!

Happy (Photo) Friday!

I prefer the first one because the stair step diagonal line in the bricks pops more. They're both interesting in their way, though.

A for me. I'm such a realist.

I am loving them both for decidedly different reasons. I was really attracted to the white line in the bricks in "A". In "B", I love the cartoonish, Dick Tracy sort of feel it has.

Russian Orthodox cathedrals are so beautiful. I hope you enjoy it!

I love the second one for the same reason as Phoenix Touch, but I wish you could still read the parking garage sign. I like the first one for the same reasons a Lacochran.

Lacochran: Hm. I see what you mean. I like the diagonal line, too. And you're right, it pops more in the first one.

NG: You realist, you! ;-)

Abgue: Dick Tracy feel. I like it! I have a few pictures I've taken that I've edited to look like that.

Di: The Russian Orthodox Cathedral I was visited was WAY cool! Gorgeous iconography in the building. The priest even let me see their Holy of Holies! (Although, I wasn't allowed to step in, just look in.)

As for the parking garage sign: right. Same problem. Black background, white text = no good for reading for you (or others, I suspect.)

B would be good for some kind of advertisement because it pops off the page. But then, B depresses me because the colors are garish, and remind me of a very hot day -- a day so hot that the tar in the streets turns soft.

So A. I like A.

Is this a Rohrshach test?

Phoebe: No, no Rorschach test here! Just foolin' around with some pictures and wanted to see which resonated more. Put another way: I have absolutely nothing of substance or meaning to post that isn't the same, tired pissing and moaning, so I'm going shallow. Dull, huh?

LOLOL...you just described my entire blogging strategy. Alas.

Maybe we should be deep and miserable instead sometimes...

Di: You're probably right. The problem is, I'm bored and tired with the miserable part of that proposition. I'd like to be deep and hopeful for a change. Or something. Mostly, I just need a change...

I vote A, same reason as ng.

Liz: You realist, you! Wait, that's what I said to NG. Ah, well, there you have it. Great minds and all, right?

I prefer the first one. Yup.
