Mmmmmm... Dooooooughnuts

I don't have to explain this, do I?

No?

Good!

Thing is, though, I was so full last night, I couldn't partake. Somehow, having Five Guys & Fries and Krispy Kreme just seemed so wrong to my arteries and they rebelled. Mom and the sibs enjoyed imbibing, though.

It's probably a good thing that I live in the city and this shop of ambrosia is out on Route 1 in Alexandria.

I have never gotten the Krispy Creme thing, but then I've never had them hot. Here it is a big thing to sell them, at $8 a dozen, for fundraisers, but they were always made the day before. My dad said you have to have them hot.

I do have to say they are the only donut that doesn't give me indigestion. Even a day or two old and cold.

But... the shop of ambrosia is right there in Dupont, right on the south side of the circle. I practically have to avert my eyes every time I walk past.

Cele: The key is to have them hot. It's like instant sugar rush right to your brain!

Jess: Yes, but at the DuPont KK-SOA, they aren't actually made "HOT NOW." They truck them in on carts and then rewarm them. Definitely not the same. As a result, it's totally easy to avoid.

Just yesterday somebody at work was practically having an orgasm telling me about hot Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

Don't think I'll add KKs to my Bucket List, but that doesn't mean I don't believe how good they are!

Phoebe: I'm not sure I'd put it in my Bucket List as an absolute, but if I ran across one and it was convenient to stop and the sign said "HOT NOW", I'd stop. Can't say the same for Dunkin', Winchells, Spud Nuts, or Fractured Prune. Especially not FP. Those are the most disgusting donuts on the face of the earth!

I had no idea what a Bucket List was... I'm so out of touch. I went and googled it and found out though.

Also, "Fractured Prune"??

Di: Fractured Prune is the last in a line of donut stores. They're cake donuts that you can then have dipped in flavors of your choice. They're horrible. Simply horrible.

The name, Fractured Prune, sounds horrible enough not to ever try them. Score one for aversion marketing!

KK piping hot of the conveyor belt--nirvana. That I've only ever experienced at the Provo, UT store while staying with Dr. Lala. I've never lived close enough to one to make it a regular indulgence.

But those Granny B's pink frosted sugar cookies they sell in UT--have to have one of those every time I go.
