Daffodils

Daffodils on Capitol Hill

This week, I was on Capitol Hill meeting with someone who'd read my thesis and wanted to discuss it. I had a lovely conversation with this individual and came away with a few nuggets to gnaw on. On my way home, I stopped at the B of A across from the Library of Congresses Madison Building and kitty-corner from the Jefferson Building. This little garden was shouting at me to photograph it, so I did.

Don't you love those daffodils? A sure sign spring is on the way!

Happy (Photo) Friday!

Sunshine on a cloudy day.

My first daffodils in my lily garden are almost ready to bloom (I know daffodils/lili garden) I can't wait for the photo opportunities.

Cool photo! Daffodils are my favorite non-purple flower.

Also, the other day Torsten and I were taking a walk in the neighborhood when I saw a robin. I was really excited about it being a little sign of spring, and then I looked over and there was a HUGE crowd of robins on the grass next to the sidewalk. They were EVERYWHERE. I have never in my life seen so many robins in one place before.

So now I see the robins as a BIG sign of spring. And I am happy about that.

Cele: When it's cold outside, I've got the month of May...

Can't wait to see your pictures!

Jess: I saw a robin a few weeks ago and then, same as you, noticed there was more than one. There was a freakin' flock of 'em! It's like "Invasion of the Robins" or something. I also took it as a sign of spring, though, and it made me happy and hopeful!

I love...love, love, love daffodils. And try growing them in AZ. Doesn't work.

Lucy: I can imagine! About all AZ is good for, it seems, is cacti.

Liz: Yeah, tulips! I love tulips.

Lovely little dose of spring fever! Of all the things in my yard that are emerging from the melting winter snow, the first greens of daffodils are the only things that make me smile.

The rest of the things emerging from the melting snow come from my dogs' rear ends.

Thanks for the smile, Tewkes
